This logo was designed for an annual international conference and retreat on Selective Mutism.

Selective Mutism is a complex childhood anxiety disorder characterized by a child's inability to speak and communicate effectively in select social settings. The treatment for SM is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

I watched my daughter overcome the restrictions of Selective Mutism by taking one small, doable challenge at a time... small steps. And with this event being held in Houston, the theme of the conference is also a reference to Neil Armstrong's comment when taking his first steps on the moon.

I wanted to use hopeful, energetic, powerful colors in the logo.
